Your Bank for Life — More Than 130 Years Strong

For 136 years, TFNB has been more than a bank—we’ve been a trusted neighbor, a steadfast partner, and a pillar of the Central Texas community.

Founded in 1889 as The First National Bank of McGregor, we are the oldest bank in McLennan County and the seventh oldest national bank in Texas still operating under its original charter. But our story isn’t just about longevity; it’s about the relationships we’ve built and the communities we continue to serve.

Rooted in Central Texas; Growing With You

In 1957, we moved from our original location on 217 S. Main in McGregor to a more modern space just down the street—where our downtown McGregor branch stands today. Since then, we’ve been committed to growing alongside the people and businesses that make Central Texas home.

The 1960s brought new leadership when local businessmen, including Pat Beard and David Kultgen, took ownership. Their legacy of community-driven decision-making shaped TFNB into the bank it is today. Their influence extended beyond banking—through their law firm, Beard, Kultgen, Brophy, Bostwick, Dickson & Squires, and their involvement with Waco’s iconic Bird-Kultgen Ford dealership.

A New Generation of Leadership, Same Commitment to Community

Today, TFNB remains family-led and community-driven. The next generation continues our founders’ vision, ensuring that local banking decisions stay where they belong—right here in Central Texas.

  • Mike Beard, son of Pat Beard, serves as Chairman Emeritus.

  • Christy De Leon started her career with TFNB in 2008 as an internal auditor and currently serves as TFNB’s president and CFO. Her experiences as a CPA and accountant coupled with her ranching background helped foster her passion for community banking.

  • David Littlewood, a Waco native, was brought on as President in 2000. Today, he serves as Chairman & CEO, guiding TFNB into a new era of growth while upholding our deep community ties.

Mike, Christy and David’s leadership mirrors that of their predecessors—built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to serving the people of Central Texas.

Expanding Our Footprint

Under Littlewood’s leadership, TFNB has expanded beyond McGregor, bringing community-focused banking to more Central Texans. Our growth is driven by a commitment to personal service and ensuring financial resources are accessible to the communities we serve.

Since 2006, we’ve strategically expanded to better serve Central Texas, adding locations that make banking more convenient:

With six locations and a team of 100+ dedicated professionals, we’re committed to serving Central Texans with personal service and modern, technology-driven banking solutions. As we grow, our mission remains the same—helping individuals, families, and businesses build a stronger financial future.

More Than a Bank—We’re A Family

At TFNB, we’re not just here to hold your money—we’re here to build your dreams. We live, work, and play in the same neighborhoods as you. Our decision-makers don’t sit in a corporate office across the country; they shake your hand, know your name, and care about your success.

For 136 years, we’ve been Your Bank for Life. And we’re just getting started.
